Hypothesis:
Many people, in many times and places, have said,
“Drawing is the essence of art.”
To which I would add,
“Composition is the essence of drawing.
Proportion is the essence of composition.
Number is the essence of proportion.
Therefore, number is the essence of art.”
Absurd but logical, isn’t it?
