The Bagpiper, Durer
Durer Man with Bagpipe, the only work I have evere handled by the Northern Renaissance master Albrecht Durer is above. According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art the plate is 4 9/16 x 2 15/16 in. (11.6 x 7.5 cm) This tiny engraving displays the uncanny detail and accuracy of Durer’s engraving work. This print whose owner was kind enough to let me scan was not in as good condition as the Met impress. The five century age of this 1514 print shows making it all the more precious to me.
